Powerful, elegant and yet business-like, those are the words which we believe fit the best when describing this MSI laptop. Engineers did a good job and as a result we have the FX420. This multimedia center has a new generation Intel’s Sandy Bridge processor: Intel Core i5-2410M(2.3 GHz) with a 3MB L3 cache and one of the Intel’s trump cards -Turbo Boost technology that makes this processor the ability to reach 2.6 GHz. Add a 6 GB DDR3 RAM (processor supports up to 8 GB) and there shouldn’t be any program that can slow it down. Don’t forget about Graphic cards. In this case, it’s an AMD Radeon HD 6470 (DirectX 11 ready) which is quite powerful by itself, but taking into account that there is an Intel HD Graphics 3000 integrated into a Core i5 processor, it might have a big boost in its productivity. It should be mentioned that Intel HD Graphics 3000 work when the power of 6470 is not needed, thus we consume less energy and have a longer battery life. Another important thing is that the FX420 has an 14 inch (16:9) Hi-def screen, this also contributes to longer battery life.
The bottom line:
We have yet to find any outstanding issues with this laptop. Without a doubt, it would be able to keep up with any lifestyle you may lead.
